Climate change means that in 30 years, 23 of the UK’s league pitches could be flooded. Grassroots football is already especially vulnerable with the average pitch in England losing five weeks a season to bad weather.
Before football gets in over its head, sustainability charity Football for Future will launch #KeepFootieAfloat: rallying footballers of all levels to wear swimwear to raise awareness for climate change’s threat to the beautiful game.
We’ll kick off our campaign by inviting clubs from every level all over the country.
We’ll amplify our campaign with a Football For Future x England Men’s Team collab. We’ll release arm floaties as official kit and pull a game-day stunt to get our message out there.
